Our commitments
For a Positive Societal Contribution
At Maison Gabriel Coulet, our commitments are in our DNA. As a major local player, we have a responsibility to ensure that we have a positive impact, socially, environmentally and economically. These values guide each of our actions, because we firmly believe that collective success depends on an ethical and responsible approach, in harmony with our region and its challenges.
Our promise: « A Positive Societal Contribution »
This approach, which is beneficial to our eco-system, also brings a great deal to our company, with a direct impact on :

Preserving our Region
We take action on a daily basis to limit our impact on the planet and our region. We measure this impact through a carbon footprint to guide our strategy and investments. We adopt eco-design to reduce our footprint, manage our waste and eliminate non-recyclable materials. We also support our farmers through working groups to guarantee good farming practices and promote responsible consumption, by learning to consume less and better!
In concrete terms, we have :
- Replaced the refrigeration units in the cheese maturing halls, reducing our consumption by 25%
- Modified our facilities to recover waste heat from machines, reducing our gas consumption by 27%
- Installed photovoltaic shades on the packaging site, increasing autonomy by 32%
Adopting a
human-centred approach
We place people at the heart of our everything we do, by making sure our employees are engaged in all of our projects and by continually improving our facilities in terms of working conditions, health and safety. Our goal is to develop human capital by putting our employees first, encouraging them to grow within our organisation and offering optional training to develop their skills. Finally, we are committed to building a strong relationship with our stakeholders in order to meet their needs and take their expectations into account as our company grows.
In concrete terms:
- Every year, we promote 20% of our employees on average, in terms of their duties and responsibilities and/or their salary
- We allocate a budget of €20,000 each year to optional training
- In 2024, we organised two days of cardiac screening in collaboration with the French Federation of Cardiology French Federation of Cardiology for employees at our various sites

Promoting balance in our ecosystem
We are committed for the future by supporting new generations and promoting the transmission of know-how: helping new breeders set up their operations, working with new farms, securing milk purchase contracts and training young people through work placements and sandwich courses to prepare the next generation. We are also helping to make our region more sustainable through tripartite contracts (for instance with the “Bio Equitable” label in France, for our sheep’s milk salad cheeses), by taking part in various working groups (the CNAOL’s “AOP durable” (Sustainable PDO), «Duralim») and by supporting quality initiatives such as “Agriculture Biologique” (Organic farming). Finally, we are innovating by developing new products that support the local economy (buying local raw materials, giving priority to local suppliers, etc.). These initiatives enable us to support more than 300 women and men (direct employment only) and promote our beautiful region
Key figures:
- 4 new breeders set up in 3 years
- 100% of our breeders secured by multi-year contracts.
- 14 students on work placements or sandwich courses across our various sites in 2024
